Westfield is known to have a very important landmark to teens: town. The town is filled with food to eat and things to do. Yet, there are two competing Mexican restaurants in Westfield where people love to eat. Which is better-Chipotle or Qdoba?
To start, there is a significant choice on whether people are visiting either place based on the prices. Many kids shared their thoughts on both Chipotle and Qdoba, but especially Sawyer Daniels, eighth grade student at Edison Intermediate School (EIS), highlighted his opinion of both businesses based on their prices: “At Qboda there is a $14 bowl. When I go to Chipotle it’s $10, but at Qboda the guacamole and queso is free. However, Chipotle’s bowl tastes better, and the drinks are better.”
Pricing is a big deal when it comes to customers; if you aren’t given enough for your pretty penny, what’s the point of going to one over the other? While some base their options off of price, many base it off of the food they like. Mr. Zachery Crutcher, eighth grade math teacher shared,“I think Qboda is better because of the free guacamole and better variety of toppings.”
Not only is Mexican food known for all the delicious toppings, but it’s known to not be very vegan-friendly. Having a wide variety when picking what you want to eat is important, even for those who have dietary restrictions. An article written by The Daily Meal makes a good statement on which place is more varietal: “As well as the option of grabbing fajita veggies, Chipotle offers plant-based Sofritas. This is a vegan protein consisting of tofu that’s braised with chipotle chilis, roasted poblanos, and a blend of spices.”
Continuing on the topic of food, Qdoba itself has many pros, but it comes with one of the biggest cons. A common resource when comparing the two, Qdoba always has so many awesome things to offer, but it always has a con that outweighs all its pros. Frannie Moser, eighth grade student at EIS, stated,“The lines are fast and efficient at Qboda, but the real question is if the food is better? The answer is no.”
Overall, each cuisine has their pros and cons, but it’s more of a personal choice where you want to go. So the real question is: Which do you like better? Chipotle or Qdoba?
