At Edison Intermediate School (EIS), there are mixed opinions about several different topics. A big argument is between Starbucks and Dunkin’. Have you ever thought about your favorite place to get a drink?
According to The Strategy Institution, “Today, Starbucks has over 32,000 stores spanning more than 80 countries worldwide, successfully spreading its coffee culture on a global scale. At the heart of Starbucks’ phenomenal international business success lies a strategic multi-domestic approach that balances maintaining a consistent global brand with adeptly adapting to local cultures.” As you can see, Starbucks is a very well-known company.
The rival store here at EIS is Dunkin’. According to UNL Digital Commons research, “Dunkin’ Brands is the parent company that operates franchises, and one of its most well-known subsidiaries is Dunkin’ Donuts. This establishment, rooted in the United States but with a global presence, is a significant player in the coffee and donut shop industry.” So which store is more popular?
Along with Starbucks, Dunkin’ is known for having drinks and food. People around the world go to these places expecting delicious drinks. These stores are perfect for morning snacks. People love to go to Dunkin’ for its convenience, affordable prices, and accessibility. People love to go to Starbucks for its consistency and customization. Eighth grade student Grace Lavigne explained, “I like Starbucks only because they have cake pops, and they have more drink options.”
Sixth grade student at EIS, Madeline Rodrigues, said, “Starbucks is better because it has more drinks and snacks than Dunkin’.”
It is true that Starbucks has multiple drink styles. For example, there are refreshers, Frappuccinos, matcha’s, and coffees. Snacks can include croissants, cake pops, cookies, brownies, and bagels.
On the other hand, an eighth grade student at EIS, Alex Cahill, stated, “Dunkin’ has better food than Starbucks but Starbucks has better drinks.”
Another eighth grade student from EIS, Laurel Giordano, agreed Alex. This was a common statement at EIS throughout all grades.
However, Abigail Bresnahan, another eighth grade student at EIS, prefers Dunkin’. “Dunkin’ is definitely my favorite because their drinks are sweeter and perfect.”
Out of the students interviewed, however, most prefer Starbucks. Seventh grade student Logan Cortes stated, “I like Starbucks because I go there with my sisters very often.”
“Maximilian Galente, sixth grader at EIS, said, “I go to Starbucks because I love Frappuccinos. I really just love them.”
If you want our opinion, Dunkin’ wins over Starbucks. The drinks are so delicious, especially the strawberry dragon fruit refresher! Kelsey also loves getting Dunkin’ before she attends her sports practices and games. The drinks put her a better mood and taste much better than Starbucks.
So what do you think is better? Starbucks or Dunkin’?
