Imagine it’s Friday night and you have no idea what to eat for dinner. You don’t want to cook, but are wondering what restaurants are good in the area. Edison Intermediate School (EIS) students share what their favorite places to eat and snack are around the area of Westfield, NJ. Some of the most popular places are fast food, sushi restaurants, and places that vary in cuisine. Research from NRN’s Top 10 ethnic cuisines consumers favor shows the many different ethnic types of food people all around the world enjoy. “Italian food reigns supreme among consumers, according to the National Restaurant Association’s “Global Palates: Ethnic Cuisines and Flavors in America” report. Surveyed participants also said they regularly ate Mexican and Chinese food, making those three ethnic cuisines the most popular in the report’s findings.”
Many students agree that their favorite places to eat serve sushi. This is a common choice for EIS students and teachers, as there are many sushi restaurants in the area. When looking for sushi restaurants, customers look for good quality, fresh and tasty food. Sammie Marx, an eighth grade student at EIS says, “I love Ginger Sushi in Fanwood, NJ. Ginger Sushi serves delicious and fresh sushi that I love to eat!”
Other students argue this claim and say that Mexican food overtops everything else. Many students at EIS crave tacos and burritos because of their unique and yummy flavor. Olivia Najjar, a sixth grade student at EIS claims that Mexican food is superior to other options. “Jose Tejas is the best restaurant ever because of the delicious steak and rice they serve. It’s also very good quality and not that expensive.”
Finally, eighth Language Arts teacher Mrs. Kimberly Swenson likes to go to a restaurant with great sandwiches right by her house. “Mazzella’s Gourmet Market is walking distance from my house. They have a delicious chicken cutlet sandwich that I buy all the time when I don’t know what I want for dinner.”
