Have you ever questioned what makes a football team great? The New York Giants are not as far as you think from being a playoff-contending team. With undeniable weapons at their skill-positioned players, the New York Giants are destined to see a playoff appearance, possibly even a Super Bowl, within the next few years.
First of all, the Giants had a flawless draft class, selecting rookie running back Cam Skattebo, rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart, and rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter. These players are determined to lead the Giants to a Super Bowl appearance beside star wide receiver, Malik Nabers. “They are playoff contenders as they have very talented rookies with a good rebuild,” proclaimed eighth grader Brady Quay.
Outside of their offensive weapons, the Giants have an extremely competitive defense, regarding the best defensive line in football, consisting of Brian Burns who currently leads the league in sacks, Dexter Lawrence–last year’s runner up defensive player of the year, Kayvon Thibodeaux who is coming off a very strong season, and Abdul Carter–potential Defensive rookie of the year. The Giants also have one of the most reliable linebackers in the league, Bobby Okereke, who currently has the fifth most tackles in the league. “The Giants have a very strong defense, with one of the best defensive lines in the league,” stated sixth grader Raz Nair.
On the other hand, the Giants coaching staff is concerning. The Giants just acquired a brand new head coach halfway through the season: Mike Kafka. However, it is difficult to express negativity towards Kafka considering the fact that he hasn’t coached a snap for the Giants yet to date. “The Giants have great personnel, but their coaching staff needs to lock in,” commented eighth grader Doruk Karogaz.
“Next year, once they have better coaching and all their players are healthy, the team will be much better,” said eighth grader Liam Rabbitt.
“If there secondary doesn’t get any better they will not play up to expectations,” added eighth grader Luke Denny.
In conclusion, regardless of their current position, the Giants are an extremely talented team with a bright future. The Giants may have the most dangerous skill position players in the league: Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, and Jaxson Dart. The primary reason for their poor record is due to injuries across their personnel and poor coaching, but with a fresh start at head coach, and players recovering from their injury, the Giants have a competent chance at making a deep playoff run within the next few years. “I was at the Giants game as an Eagles fan, and I was not happy with the end of the game,” declared Special Services Coordinator Mrs. Melissa Greenwald. “It looks like the Giants have a bright future.”
