Starbucks is a top hit throughout all ages, and their new spring menu is hitting people with those great spring feelings, however some things on the menu are not stirring people how they intended. With changes to the fan favorite strawberry acai and countless new flavors, Starbucks lovers are overwhelmed with choices and feelings varying from fondness to a more negative perspective.
Eighth grader Katherine Sletteland stated her favorite menu item:. “I go often and I get the Cannonball or a Caramel Ribbon Crunch, no whipped cream, almond milk, extra caramel, grande frappuccino.”
The Cannonball drink is a Mr. Beast collaboration drink with Starbucks and Beast Games released in January of 2026, as a limited edition part of the spring menu. This drink is very popular among Edison Intermediate school (EIS) students. It is a lemonade with ice, one scoop of strawberry fruit inclusions, one scoop of dragon fruit inclusions, and light caffeine.
Another student from EIS, seventh grader Aurelle Dugrid, also agrees with Katherine. She disclosed, “I go often and I get the Cannonball.”
Sixth grader Layla Ibrahim had a common opinion on the changes to the Strawberry Acai. “ It kind of tastes the sam,e but I like the other one a little better.”
The changes strawberry acai fans are freaking out about seems like a minor change, but affects the drink majorly. The caffeine was removed from the strawberry acai, but it’s not just the caffeine. Removing the caffeine removes the extract that has the caffeine in it, which provides not only the color, but the flavor too.
While people mainly seem to enjoy the old strawberry acai more than the new one, some opinions differ. EIS Secretary Mrs. Noonan stated, “I love the new one.”
The changes to the strawberry acai isn’t the only thing opinions vary on. EIS eighth grade English Language Arts teacher Mrs. Kim Swenson said, “if it’s something I really like I get a little sad for a while, but I like looking forward to things seasonally” about her opinion on Starbucks changing their menu along with the seasons.
While Mrs. Swenson had a more positive view on the constant rotating, eighth grader Olivia Zoba shared,”I don’t like it; they should just keep it the same.”
The spring menu at Starbucks has so many new flavors to try. Seventh graders Emma Vaccaro and Olivia Kotowicz both disclosed, “No, I haven’t [tried any spring drinks].”
In a customer’s post referring to Starbucks’ colorful new menu, “this isn’t just a menu drop- it’s a personality change,” and also stated. “Spring just got a major upgrade.”
Starbucks added five new drinks to their spring lineup ranging from the Mango Strawberry Refresher, Mango Strawberry Lemonade Refresher, and the Mango Dream (the Mango Strawberry Refresher made with coconut milk), all with customizable amounts of caffeine, to an Iced Mango Cream Chai and an Iced Mango Cream Matcha
Sixth grader Sophia Kopec had an interesting opinion on a different item on the Starbucks snack menu. She complained, “I really like the Dubai chocolate bites, but they should bring the price down because you only get one bite for 3 bucks.”
A common theme among people who have a sweet tooth is their love for the summer drinks. “the popping pearls.” Seventh grader Olivia Kotowicz exclaimed that they should have them as an option all year round.
Overall, while opinions vary on the new spring menu at Starbucks, a common theme throughout all the ages is while the changes to the Strawberry acai may not have been necessary, the fun new options are amazing additions to the menu and while these sweet treats may not be great for your wallet, they are great for your taste buds.
