Where is your favorite destination to travel to during spring break? Do you prefer a tropical place or a cooler place? Many Edison Intermediate School [ EIS ] students gave their preferences on where they love to go. These destinations range from domestic destinations to islands in the Caribbean.
To start, sixth and seventh grade French teacher Kate Young stated, “Paris is always a good idea. Paris is excellent any season. I love to go to cafes. I like to revisit the popular monuments. Notre Dame reopened, and I highly recommend people go see it. I love visiting any place in Europe.”
One of the most popular places to visit is London. An article titled “20 Best Places to Visit in Spring” by U.S. News Travel said, “London is always crowded, so you might as well visit when the trees and plants within the city’s many beautiful parks and gardens are blooming. Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Regent’s Park, Kew Gardens and St. James’s Park (to name a few) will be unforgettably lush during spring. For a one-of-a-kind seasonal experience, get tickets to the incredibly eye-catching RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which takes place every May. Or, book a cruise on the River Thames to admire the city’s landmarks from the water.”
Europe is a very popular vacation destination for many members of EIS. Seventh and eighth grade science teacher Mrs. Tamara Zuckerman has visited many of the famous destinations in Europe and hopes to visit many more. “I love Europe. I love Spain. My favorite place in Spain is Sevilla. I also love Madrid. Paris and Dublin were also so much fun, and I would love to go back to Greece and Italy. I’m excited to go to Brussels. I love seeing how different cultures live. It’s cool to see the different languages and how the laws are different. Some countries drive on the other side of the road which is cool. I like how things are so different but the same.”
On the other hand, students tend to visit more islands for a vacation. EIS sixth grader Skylar Field stated, “I like the beach and Aruba. I want to go to the Bahamas. I went there when I was younger. I also would rather travel internationally than domestically.”
Another beautiful island to travel to during spring break is St Lucia. “Spring is an ideal time to plan a getaway to St. Lucia, before the island’s wet season starts in June. From March to May, daytime temperatures sit in the 80s, so visitors can spend their days soaking up some sun on the palm-fringed beaches and hiking the volcanic Pitons”(20 Best Places to Visit in Spring | U.S. News Travel). St. Lucia also is a tropical destination that is loved by many tourists every year.
Furthermore, seventh grade student Ella Mirksy has many destinations she hopes to cross off her bucket list, “I want to go to Greece. I love Florida. I also want to go to the Bahamas. I go to the beach when I’m there.”
In addition, eighth grade student Daniela Meshi explained all of the amusing locations she visits during vacation. “I like South Carolina. I like to go to the beach and amusement parks. I also like to go to Myrtle Beach.”
