After a long 18-week regular season, the NFL Playoffs are finally beginning. Fourteen teams, one winner. The first games officially start on January 11th.
To kick off the playoffs on Saturday, January 11th, the Texans play the Chargers, and the Ravens face the Steelers. The following day, Sunday, January 12th, the Broncos take on the Bills, the Packers meet the Eagles, and the Buccaneers square off against the Commanders. The final game of the Wild Card round is on Monday, January 13th, with the Rams playing the Vikings. The two teams with first-round byes and a free pass to the Divisional Round are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions.
Eighth grader Alex Natt exclaimed, “I think the Rams will win the Super Bowl because their offense is really strong and they show a lot of potential. I also think the Chargers will be a sleeper team because they have Ladd McConkey, who has excellent route running.”
Seventh grader Declan Brown added, “I think the Commanders will win the Super Bowl because they have Jayden Daniels, and he’s amazing. I also think Jayden Daniels will be the overall MVP of the playoffs because he’s the best rookie QB in the league.”
Eighth-grade math teacher Zachary Crutcher remarked, “I think the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl because they have the best player in the league, and they also have a bye week. I also think the most likely upset in the playoffs is the Commanders over the Buccaneers in Round 1.”
Santi Gensler-Canale, an eighth-grade student, stated, “I think the Eagles will win the Super Bowl because they have a great defense and the best running back in the league, plus a good offensive line. I think Saquon Barkley will be the best overall player because he will make many crucial plays.”
Sixth grader Bradon McKee admitted, “I think the Ravens will win the Super Bowl because their team is very good. I also think the Eagles will be the most disappointing team in the playoffs because they always lose in the playoffs.”
Seventh grader Sawyer Daniels exclaimed, “I think the Lions will win the Super Bowl because they have a great wide receiver core. I also think Josh Allen will be the best player in the playoffs because he is a great runner and can throw the ball very well.”
Every year during the sports season, fans love to predict outcomes. Predicting who will win and who will lose is a fun way for people to feel engaged in the games. There are many possible outcomes for the playoffs, and it is so unpredictable that anything could happen.
